- The Katsina state CP has relocated to Daura village
- The CP relocation followed the abduction of the district head of the village - also President Buhari's hometown
- According to the police, the CP will be supervising the rescue operation of Umar who was abducted by some gunmen in the area
The commissioner of Police in Katsina state, Sanusi Buba, have relocated to Dura, the hometown of President Muhamadu Buhari.
Buba's relocation to the village followed the abduction of a district head in the area, Magajin Garin Daura, Musa Umar Uba.
Daily Trust reports that the immediate family of the traditional ruler and the entire Daura Emirate Council are agitated over the actual motive behind his abduction and safety.
A source within the Umar family who pleaded anonymity, said there is fear and apprehension in the family because the silence on the side of the abductors has left everybody in the dark
“Everybody including the Emir of Daura are in pains,” the source said.

While, Buba is said to have relocated to Daura to conrdinate investigation and rescue of operation, the Police spokesperson, Frank Mba, said there is massive strategic security operations, both covert and overt missions, taking place at different parts of the country, including Katsina state.
Mba said the operations are aimed at subduing the criminal gangs and restoring sanity to the land.
"However, because of the covert and sensitive nature of these operations, I will not discuss them for now. But Nigerians should be assured that the entire law enforcement and intelligence community in Nigeria will not rest until we win the battle against crimes and criminality in Nigeria," Mba said.
Also speaking on the matter, the spokesperson of Katsina state police command, Gambo Isah, said there is a substantial development towrds the rescue of the district head.
He said: “We are waiting for the right time to disclose it, but victory is ours, we are in Daura presently with the CP as well."
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Umar was kidnapped by gunmen on the evening of Wednesday, May 1, President Muhammadu Buhari's village.

The kidnappers were said to have arrived in his Daura residence at 7 pm and engaged in sporadic shooting, thereby making people of the area to scamper for safety.
Also, the incidence sighted the Daura council chairman, Malam Abba Mato, and hundreds of sympathizers at the residence of the district head, discussing how it occurred.
