David Luiz has penned a contract extension at Chelsea that will see him remain at Stamford Bridge until 2021.
The Brazilian who didn’t get to feature often under former manager Antonio Conte, has become a key figure in present manager Maurizio Sarri’s system, and has made 48 appearances across the campaign.
Upon extending his stay with Chelsea, David Luiz said: "I am so happy to be here and to have this opportunity to stay. I love this club and I still have the ambition of a young player.
“It means a lot to reach another European final, and we still have the opportunity to finish in the top three of the Premier League this season and I will continue to try to do my best to help the team."

On her part, Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia expressed her delight over Luiz determination to remain at Stamford Bridge.
She said: “We are delighted David Luiz will be staying with the club.
“He has set the perfect example to those around him throughout the campaign and been a huge influence on and off the pitch.
“With the Europa League final still to come, we hope to finish off the season with silverware and David will be central to that success in Baku and beyond.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Belgium international Eden Hazard has vowed to help Chelsea win silverware at the end of this season.
The 28-year-old was instrumental to the Blues to the final of this season's Europa League final following their victory over German League side Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday, May 9.
Hazard scored the winning penalty that secured final ticket for the London club at Stamford Bridge after both sides played 2-2 aggregate draw.
