In Ogbomoso, student body battles House of Reps member over bus

- Federation of Ogbomoso Students' Union (FOGSU) has accused Hon. Segun Ebenezer Ogunwuyi of ordering the retrieval of a bus he donated to the union because he lost at the polls

- The lawmaker denied the allegation, saying that he gave the bus to a former president of the association Ayanyinka Olusegun and not FOGSU

- Meanwhile, Ayanyinka Olusegun has reportedly sold the bus and used the proceed to buy a car

A member of the House of Representatives representing Ogbomoso south, north and Orire federal constituency, Hon. Segun Ebenezer Ogunwuyi has been accused by Federation of Ogbomoso Students' Union (FOGSU) of ordering the retrieval of a bus he donated to the union because he lost at the polls.

The student in a statement sent to Legit.ng had alleged that the lawmaker ordered the former president of the association, Comrade OBJ not to hand over the bus to the administration that succeeded him because the student contributed to his loss.

The student body claimed that Ayanyinka Olusegun acting on the instruction of the honourable then sold the bus and used the proceed to buy himself a gulf car.

He was said to have argued that the bus was a personal gift and his personal compensation from the honourable who he had aggressively worked for during the electioneering period.

The student body was said to have reported Olusegun to the area commander, Owode divisional police headquarters where a call was put to the honourable.

Honourable Ogunwuyi was said to have admitted that he had donated the bus to Ayanyinka Olusegun and not FOGSU which he claimed not to have any business with.

I gave the bus to Olusegun, not FOGSU but if they need a bus, they can come to see me - Ogunwuyi tells Legit.ng

Meanwhile, when Legit.ng contacted the federal lawmaker to hear his side of the story, Ogunwuyi insisted that he specifically gave the bus the Olusegun and he has the right to do whatever he likes with it.

The lawmaker who wondered why the situation degenerated this far said the people at the forefront of the agitation are probably not student of any institution.

Going further, the lawmaker added that the 'people' fighting him have not even come to meet him to discuss about the situation. He said if they truly needed a bus, they are free to come and make a request and if he could afford it, he would get it for them.

On the issue of him retrieving the bus from them because he lost the election, the lawmaker denied the allegation and said that he would not be the first person to lose an election.

He also wondered how the student body population could have won him an election when most of them are not resident of Ogbomoso and its environs.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state has accused Governor Abiola Ajimobi of siphoning the state fund by awarding projects of about N50 billion in the last two months.
