Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang became the third African players to score 20+ goals in the 2018-19 Premier League season, but his goal didn't do Arsenal any favours as the Gunners hunt for top four place finish suffered a major blow, following a 1-1 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, May 5.

The Gabonese forward joins Liverpool duo of Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah as the other Africans to have scored 20+ goals in the league this season, the first time the Premier League has witnessed three players from Africa hit that goal mark.

Aubameyang got his goal in the 9th minute as he made no mistake from the penalty spot after Nacho Monreal was brought down by Alireza Jahanbakhsh.

Arsenal pressed forward for a winner and almost got that in the 75th minute as Aubameyang was presented with a good chance to score but his shot went wide of the mark.

Unai Emery was forced to a triple change in the 77th minute as he brought in the trio of Kolasinac, Iwobi, Guendouzi for Lichtsteiner, Xhaka, Mkhitaryan.

With three minutes left to play, Brighton were presented a big chance to score the winner but Pascal Gross fired his shot well wide from close range with the goal at his mercy.

However, both teams were unable to find a winner despite a frantic finish at the Emirates as they shared the point.

The results all but ends Arsenal's top-four ambitions as they will need to beat Burnley with as much as five goals and hope Everton beat Tottenham with as much as four goals in the final game of the Premier League to stand any chance of clinching top four finish.

With the result, Chelsea will play Champions League football next season.
