The Zamfara state governor, Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, has approved the minimum wage of N30,000 to the state civil servants as signed into law by the federal government.
Legit.ng's regional reporter in Zamfara, Lawal Tsalha, reports that the governor made this known on Thursday, April 25, at the 6th quadrennial state delegates conference of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

The governor assured the workers that his successor would take care of the implementation of the new salary scale even if it does not happen before his handing over.
He also pledged to clear all the arrears of gratuity of the pensioners before he leaves office on May, 29.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state disclosed that implementing the new N30,000 minimum wage would add over N2 billion to the wage bill of the state government.
It was reported that Obiano made the disclosure on Wednesday, April 24, at his residence in Aguleri, Anambra East local government area, while addressing some staff of the Anambra Broadcasting Service.

The governor, however, assured that the new national minimum wage would be paid, just as he promised.
