Yul Edochie condemns comedians making jokes out of Easter and Jesus Christ

The past few days have been a celebration galore for Christians all over the world as most of them got to celebrate the death and resurrection of their Messiah Jesus Christ; a time which is aptly referred to as Easter. In the spirit of the season, several Nigerian comedians wove jokes about Jesus and his last hours into the comedy shows they held at this period.

Although many Nigerians might have laughed and cracked their ribs by means of these Jesus oriented jokes, one person that was not totally pleased was Nollywood actor Yul Edochie.

The screen god frowned at the act and considered it an aberration that jokes about the last hours of someone considered to be the saviour of a whole religious group were being told and laughed at. To express his discontent at this, Yul shared a post on his Twitter page.

In this post, he blasted comedians for making jokes about what should be considered as sacred. According to him, it is totally unacceptable to do this. He hammered on the fact that if these comic acts did not respect anyone, they should at the least revere God.

"Seen a couple of comedians making a joke out of the last hours of Jesus Christ. It is wrong. Totally unacceptable. Even if you have no respect for anyone at all, certainly not your maker. Fear and respect our Lord Almighty, our creator, Lord Jesus Christ."
