The executive secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Professor Abubakar Rasheed, has said that the commission is presently reviewing school’s curriculum to upgrade the quality of the system and make graduates globally relevant.
The head of the commission made this known at the 7th graduation occasion of Veritas University, Abuja where more than 141 students graduated, Daily Trust reports.

Rasheed said that the government was worried about the complaints by employers that graduates from universities are not employable enough.
Rasheed who was represented by Chris Maiyaki, said the commission is working on re-positioning the university system with a committee led by a former executive secretary of NUC, Professor Peter Okebukola.
At the convocation, 10 graduates got first class degree while 46 out of the 141 graduands got second class upper.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that the Vice Chancellor (VC) of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Professor Abdalla Uba Adamu, said that the school will accept all guidelines by the Nigeria Law School and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
It should be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari recently signed the bill that allows NOUN to be equal with other universities and could participate in the compulsory one year national service and law school.
When the VC was asked what the situation has been since the assent, he said the school is in negotiations with the Law School so they can know the conditions for participation for their students.
