Enugu Rangers head coach Gbenga Ogunbote emerged the Nigerian coach of the year (male) at the second edition of Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) awards night held on Monday, April 1, at the Eko Hotels & Suites.
Ogunbote guided the Flying Antelopes to claims the 2018 Federation Cup in Asaba after overturning a three-goal deficit to beat Kano Pillars in penalty shoot-out.
The former Sunshine Stars boss saw off the duo of Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr and Lobi Stars' Solomon Ogbeide to the top prize

Interestingly, while Franco-German tactician ensured Nigeria qualified for to the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt this summer, after missing out the last two editions of the tournament, .Ogbeide handed Lobi ti the CAF Champions League group stage before they bowed out
On the other hand, Super Falcons coach Thomas Dennerby claimed the Nigerian coach of the year (female) after seeing off the Bayelsa Queens coach Moses Aduku and Matthew Wemimo of Sunshine Queens.

The 59-year-old was in the dugout as Nigeria's Super Falcons claimed her ninth African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) title in Ghana last year.
A performance that saw the Falcons seal one of the three spots to this year's FIFA Women's World Cup in France as the continent's champions.
