Tottenham on Tuesday night, April 9, took a good step towards reaching the semifinal of the 2018/19 Champions League after beating Manchester City 1-0 in the first leg of their quarterfinal.
Manchester City would have themselves to blame for losing this game against Spurs at their new stadium as they wasted many scoring chances.
Spurs defender Danny Rose handled the ball in the 12th minute inside the penalty box and was booked by the referee who gave Manchester City a penalty.
Argentina international Sergio Aguero stepped forward for the spot kick, but his shot was saved by Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
And after a tactical foul in the 27th minute against Harry Kane, Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte got a yellow card.

David Silva had a chance to give Manchester City the lead before the end of the first 45 minutes, but his effort was blocked by Hugo Lloris as the first half ended 0-0.
Tottenham changed their style of play in the second half, but they had to wait till the 78th minute before scoring their goal through Son Heung-min who was assisted by Christian Eriksen.
Spurs' captain Harry Kane was unable to finish the match after sustaining an injury which could rule him out of the season.
Brazilian star Gabriel Jesus almost scored for Manchester City at the death, but his shot was saved by Lloris who was incredible for Spurs as Tottenham won the match 1-0.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Manchester City forward Kevin De Bruyne claimed that Tottenham's new stadium is nothing special and will not give Spurs any advantage in Tuesday's night, April 9, Champions League tie.
Last week, Tottenham's £1 billion stadium was officially opened in which Spurs defeated visiting Crystal Palace in a Premier League game.
