The commissioner of police in Delta state has confirmed the arrest of a police sergeant who was caught on video harassing a student.
In a tweet on Wednesday, April 10 via their official page, the police condemned the action of the sergeant.

The police said this was not a reflection of the force and that the officer will face trial.
The police wrote: "The commissioner of Police Delta State Command has confirmed that the police SGT reported to have harrassed and embarrassed an innocent student is now in police custody.
"Also, orderly trial has commenced and the preceding will bring out appropriate disciplinary action on him.
"The Force wishes to state that such behavioral pattern is not a true reflection of Nigeria Police Force especially under the leadership of Inspector General of police, Ag. IGP MA Adamu."
Legit.ng had reported that the Nigerian Police Force has come under a lot of criticism for a while now for the way their officers seem to oppress the masses and also harass innocent citizens.
Some of their high-handedness has been blamed on inferiority complex on the part of the officers and a recent occurrence seems to prove this point.

An unidentified student in Delta state was the latest victim of police harassment.
According to a Twitter user, Covenant Buhari, a police officer stopped a bus at Delta state and bullied a student for owing an iPhone X. The officer was angry that the student could use such an expensive phone when he could not afford such after working for over 13 years.
