Pedro’s nets brace as Chelsea reach Europa League semi-final after beating Slavia Prague

- Chelsea vs Slavia Prague saw Pedro Rodriguez net twice for Chelsea as The Blues fought hard to seal a spot in the semi-finals after a seven-goal thriller win at Stamford Bridge.

- Simon Deli's own-goal alongside Olivier Giroud effort completed the scoring for Chelsea

- Tomas Soucek reduced the deficit for Slavia Prague in the first half, but Petr Sevcik's quick-fire brace in the second half saw the match finish 4-3 on the night

Chelsea defeated Slavia Prague 4-3 after a seven-goal thriller to progress on a 5-3 aggregate win in the reverse tie of their quarter-final clash on Thursday, April 18, at Stamford Bridge.

The encounter saw Pedro Rodriguez open scores for Chelsea after five minutes of hostilities to further increase The Blues advantage coming into game after a 1-0 win last week.

Four minutes later, Simon Deli scored an own-goal to hand the home-side a two-goal advantage, with less than 10 minutes into the match.

In the 17th minute, Olivier Giroud restored Chelsea’s two-goal after netting the third goal for the Sarri tutored-side.

Tomas Soucek reduced the deficit for Slavia Prague in the 26th minute, when he scored the away side’s first goal, but less than a minute later Pedro netted Chelsea’s fourth goal.

The game also witnessed other scoring chances, but none of the teams were able to score at the end of the first half, with the scoreboard reading Chelsea 4 - 1 Slavia Prague.

Six minutes after the resumption of play in the second half, Petr Sevcik netted a quick-fire brace for the visitors’ to alter the scores to 4-3.

Despite the fightback from the away side, Chelsea managed to hold on without conceding more goals, to progress to the semifinal of the Europa League at the blast of the referee's final whistle.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Slavia Prague suffered a 0-1 defeat to Chelsea in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final clash on Thursday, April 11, at Sinobo Stadium.

The encounter saw Marcos Alonso net a late header in the 86th minute to seal the important win for Chelsea against Slavia Prague in quarter-final clash.

Willian, who came closest to scoring for Chelsea in the first-half, delivered a perfect cross for Alonso to head home
