The national chairman of the All progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has said that the deputy Senate president for the 9th Senate might emerge from the south south region.
Oshiomhole while speaking on Sunday, April 7, said except for the Senate president and speaker of the House of Representatives, which have been settled, other NASS positions were yet to be zoned.
He also said that the south south is being considered for the office of the deputy Senate president.
Leadership reports that Oshiomhole said APC was yet to zone the Senate top offices but that the south south was in the picture for the office of deputy Senate president.

The spokesperson for the APC national chairman, Simon Egbebulem, said the party had already zoned the position to the south south, especially to Oshiomhole’s kinsman, Senator Francis Alimekhena.
Alimekhena was re-elected to represent Edo north senatorial district in 9th National Assembly with the national chairman of the party been accused of secure the position for his kinsman.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a member of the House of Representatives, Umar Bago, has warned that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is not guided by individual thought but on the party's constitution and principles.

Bago while speaking with journalists in Abuja, on Wednesday, April 3, on the issue of leadership at the 9th Assembly speaking said the constitution of the APC and that of Nigeria is clear on the issue of equity across boards.
The lawmaker who is representing Chanchaga federal constituency, Niger state and contesting for the position of the speaker of the House of Representative at the 9th Assembly said the people of the state are clamouring for equity in leadership zoning formular.
Stating that the North Central has been marginalised over leadership in the House of Representatives since 1999, Bago said irrespective of preference, leadership cannot be forced on the people.
