Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has revealed that his security details would have been in trouble if he had died in the February 2 helicopter crash in Kogi state.
The vice president disclosed this on Sunday, March 31, during a special thanksgiving service organised by the Aso Villa Chapel Abuja to celebrate the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari and himself.
“On February 2nd, God gave me reason to know that but for his grace, we would have been consumed, when our helicopter crashed.
“When the crash occurred, for a moment there was complete silence. For a second, it occurred to me that if we had died that is what it would have been, complete silence. But we all got out without a scratch. God delivered us.
“God also delivered those in charge of our security, the government of Kogi State would have also been in trouble. We give God all the glory. I pray God will also be kind to you all also, that you will never be lacking in support, care and genuine prayers,” he said.
Recall that Legit.ng had reported that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Sunday, March 31, at the Presidential Villa Banquet Hall, said that his wife, Dolapo Osinabjo, had preferred a quiet life to the rigours of politics.
“It is impossible to thank him enough; I and my family have too many reasons to thank God.
“One day my wife and I reflected on how unlikely our journey here is.
“She reminded me that all she wanted was a quiet life as one of the many families of academics living on the University campus.
“If someone had said to me in 2013 you will be campaigning across the country;. you will win the elections and become Vice President of Nigeria I would, because I am generally polite, have said amen but in my heart, say what a crazy chap!
