Mohamed Salah has set a new Liverpool record after returning to goal scoring form for the Jurgen Klopp tutored-side on Friday, April 5, at St. Mary Stadium.

Ahead of Southampton game, the Egyptian star has struggled in front of goal without scoring since February, which incidentally is Salah’s longest spell without a goal for the Kop side.

However, after netting Liverpool’s second goal in the 3-1 win over Southampton, Salah took his total Premier League goals to 50 strikes for the Reds.

The performance of the Egyptian international means Salah is now the fastest Liverpool player in the club’s record books to reach 50 Premier League goals mark, after 69 matches, three games less than the number Fernando Torres needed to achieve the feat.

Interestingly, the Egyptian forward is now third on the list of Premier League most potent forward behind the duo of Alan Shearer and Ruud van Nistelrooy at 66 and 68 goals respectively.
