The Lagos command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on Wednesday, April 10, confirmed that the state fire service chief, Rasaki Musibau, has regained freedom from his abductors.
Musibau, according to the police public relations officer in Lagos, DSP Bala Elkana, was freed with his six co-victims unhurt at about 11.45 pm on Tuesday, April 9.

Elkana also confirmed that the victims, who were abducted on April 6, at Ketu-Ereyun area of the state, have been united with their families while the police continue to comb the creeks in Ikorodu area of the state.
“The victims have since reunited with their families.
“The command's tactical teams are still in the creeks and forests combating the hoodlums.
“Water-tight security measures are emplaced across the state to forestall future occurrence,” he said while adding that the command appreciates the supports of the state government and its people.
He also thanked the residents for providing useful information that facilitated the prompt rescue of the victims.
“Together we will continue to make Lagos state one of the safest states in Nigeria,” he said.
The kidnappers established contact with the family of the Lagos fire service boss and demanded N6 million for his release days before he was freed.
Legit.ng earlier reported how the family members of the kidnapped director of Lagos State Fire Service (LSFS), Rasaki Musibau, were thrown into fear as those suspected to have kidnapped him demanded N6 million ransom for his release.

According to emerging report, the kidnappers vowed not to collect less than N3 million from the family of Musibau, while placing lesser ransom on other kidnapped victims.
