Chelsea held by Burnley as Blues waste golden opportunity to move into 3rd on EPL table

- Chelsea vs Burnley played out a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge in a Premier League fixture

- The contest produced four goals in the first half as both sides came from behind to level

- Chelsea have now missed the opportunity to go into third position on the league table

Chelsea vs Burnley ended in a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge as the Blues stay in top four on the Premier League table.

Maurizio Sarri's men started the strongest with Gonzalo Higuain's chip cleared off the line by a defender in the sixth minute.

But the Sean Dyche's men got their noses in front from their first real attack in the game via a corner kick.

Jeff Hendrick volleyed home a lose ball that fell kindly into his range to put Burnley 1-0 ahead.

But in the 12th minute, the Blues equalized through N'Golo Kante after Eden Hazard mesmerized a defender before laying a pass to the Frenchman who slammed the ball home to make it 1-1.

Higuain then made it 2-1 with a superb strike that went into the roof of the net after a neat one-two with Ceasar Azpilicueta.

There was a twist in the tail again for Burnley as Ashley Barnes leveled the scores at 2-2 after sliding in at the near corner from a headed set piece.

Chelsea had the better openings in the second half but chances were missed by Higuain, Pedro Rodriguez, but Tom Heaton brilliantly stood his ground.

The match ended in a disappointing 2-2 draw as Chelsea failed to move above Tottenham in third but climbed into fourth ahead of Man United and Arsenal.
