The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council on Sunday, April 28, said President Muhammadu Buhari loves southeast people more than all his predecessors in office.
According to The Punch newspaper, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the council’s president-general, said this in an interview with journalists in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state capital.
The newspaper reports that Isiguzoro was was reacting to a statement credited to the president-general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, claiming President Buhari was promoting ethnic division in the country.

“President Buhari loves the Igbos more than any other president Nigeria ever had.
“In 2003, he picked the late Chuba Okadigbo as his running mate. In 2011, he picked Edwin Ume-Ezeoke under the ANPP as his running mate.
“He has shown so much love for the Igbos. Buhari believes in one Nigeria, against what people like Nwodo are saying.
“We believe that the President will do everything possible not to allow those who feel aggrieved by their past misfortune to ruin the fortune of the country,” Isiguzoro said.
He reiterated that President Buhari loves the people of southeast despite the fact that the zone is the Peoples Democratic Party's stronghold. He claimed that some state governors will soon join the APC.

Meanwhile, ahead of the inauguration of his second term in office on May, 29, some Nigerians have set agenda for President Buhari on how to move the country forward.
Legit.ng's regional reporter, Subair Mohammed, reports that while some people expressed hope in Buhari's new administration to provide jobs for unemployed youth, others said they were satisfied with his government based on his integrity.
The president was also advised to look beyond party loyalty and tribal affiliation in the selection of his cabinet members, prioritize curbing insecurity and maintaining independence of the other two arms of government.
