A son to the former governor of Kogi state, late Abubakar Audu, has formally declared intention to contest in the governorship election of the state scheduled for November this year.
Prince Mustapha Audu made his intention public in Lokoja, Kogi state's capital city on Wednesday, March 27.
Mustapha who noted that he was in the race to bring revolution in Kogi said he would be contesting on the platform of Young Progressives Party (YPP).

He also said he is ready to salvage the state from suffering, hunger, poverty, non-payment of salaries, hardship-induced suicides and deaths.
According to Mustapha, he would build on the good legacies of good governance and development bequeathed by his late father if elected as governor come November.
He also urged youths to join hands with him to make the dream a reality, adding that Kogi would move on to greater heights if he became governor.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a senatorial candidate for the Kogi central district in the forthcoming election has accused Governor Yahaya Bello of shutting her out of the state in her bid to exercise her civil right as a Nigerian voter.

Natasha Akpoti in a series of tweet alleged that the governor mounted over 100 fake police officers at Banda area of the state preventing her from gaining entrance into Kogi on Friday, February 22.
Akpoti had earlier tweeted that she would be leaving Abuja to her hometown in Kogi central senatorial district on Friday, February 22, for the presidential and National Assembly elections scheduled to hold on Saturday, February 23.
