Super Eagles star promises Olympic Eagles cash award for every goal against Libya

- Ahmed Musa has promised to splash out 1 million naira each for every goals scored against their opponent on Monday

- Musa made this pledge at the team training on Saturday at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.

- The Dream Team VII lost the first leg by 0-2 to the Libyans in Tunisia on Wednesday, March 20

Ahmed Musa has made a pledge of N1m per goal to members of Dream Team VII ahead of Monday’s reverse fixture against Libya in the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

According to Premium Times, Musa made the cash pledge when he visited the team along with coach during Saturday's zession for the all-important cracker against the North Africans at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.

Interestingly, the quartet of Francis Uzoho, Victor Osimhen, Chiedozie Awaziem and Valentine Ozornwafor have been seconded to the U-23 squad in a move to beef up the team ahead of reverse fixture.

Reacting in the latest move, Dream Team VII coach Imama Amapakabo revealed that Uzoho, who was between the sticks for Nigeria against Seychelles on Friday will be on duty for the U-23s in Monday’s showdown as they strive to camel out the two-goal deficit.

We had a goalkeeping problem, we had this challenge for quite some time now and Uzoho is within the age bracket.

“He is our first choice goalkeeper in the Super Eagles, from the onset, if I had wanted him to travel with us to Tunisia, it would have been so, now he is back in the team and he is going to keep for us on Monday.

“The mistake against Seychelles doesn’t make him a bad goalkeeper,” Amakapabo said, even as he remains upbeat that the Olympic Eagles will progress to the next round of the qualifiers.

“I always believe in myself and my team and I am sure we going to reverse the first leg loss in Tunisia and progress to the next round,” he summed up.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Libya U23 side defeated Nigeria’s Dream Team VII 2-0 in the first leg of AFCON U23 qualifying match on Wednesday, March 20, at the Stade de Ben Guerdane in Tunisia.

The encounter saw coach of the side Imama Amapakabo parade an all foreign-based midfielders that include Arsenal's Kelechi Nwakali, Liverpool's Taiwo Awoniyi, Villareal's Samuel Chukwueze among others from the start of the game.

The Libyans netted the seven minutes after the commencement of hostilities through forward Zakaria Alharaish after a fast counter-attacking move.
