Man United in trouble as terrible injury sidelines another top star after Wolves FA Cup defeat

- Nemanja Matic will not be available for Serbia when they battle Germany and Portugal during international break

- The Man United midfielder has not trained with his national teammates since the camp opened

- Matic was unable to stop the Red Devils from crashing out of this year's FA Cup after losing to Wolves

- Coach Krstajic's men will battle Germany in a friendly game, and later face Portugal in Euro 2020 qualifiers

Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has been ruled out of Serbia's international games against Germany and Portugal.

Coach Mladen Krstajic's men battle the 2014 FIFA World Cup winners at the Volkswagen Arena on Wednesday.

After which they face off with the Portuguese national team on Monday, March 25, in the 2020 Euro qualifiers at the Estadio Da Luz.

Matic, 30, was said to have aggravated his muscle injury during the Red Devils slim defeat to fellow Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers in their FA Cup ouster last weekend.

Krstajic, while reacting to the player's absence told the Serbian FA website: "Nemanja Matic will not play in Wolfsburg, nor in Lisbon. He played the last match in the club but did not stay in the field until the end."

The former Chelsea star becomes fourth Man United star who have withdrawn from their squads for the international break.

Both Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial will be missing from their national teams this international break as they as they both struggle with injuries.

Shaw will not be available for selection when England battle Czech Republic and Montenegro during the Euro 2020 qualifiers.

While Frenchman, Martial, who was recently invited into the team by coach Didier Deschamps will not have the chance to prove his worth to the team.

Having missed out of the team who won the FIFA World Cup title at the 2018 edition of the championship in Russia.

Victor Lindelof completes the list of four Red Devils stars who will not be in action for their countries this weekend.

The defender was said to have turned down a call-up to his national team as his wife Maja Nillson is close to giving birth.

Man United have suffered back to back defeats after their impressive come back against Paris Saint Germain in the UEFA Champions League this month.

They came from two goals down in the first leg to beat the French team 3-1 on the second leg and progress on away goal rule to the quarterfinals of the competition.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic could be out for at least four weeks after picking up an injury during his side's training on Saturday.

The Serbian has been excluded from the Red Devils squad to battle Liverpool in their crunch clash at Old Trafford on Sunday, February 24.

Before his injury, the 30-year-old has made 23 appearances for his side scoring one goal in the process.
