Hazard on target in landmark game for Belgium as Germany settle scores with Netherlands in Euro 2020 qualifiers

- Euro 2020 qualifiers matches continued over the weekend as Germany defeat Netherlands

- Belgium also got the better of Cyprus in Eden Hazard's 100th international game for his country

- Germany's victory over their Dutch counterpart was their first away from home since 1996

Euro 2020 qualifiers Group C and I matches took place at the weekend where Germany avenged their UEFA Nations League defeat to the Netherlands.

Belgium also won away at Cyprus and it was a landmark achievement for Chelsea star, Eden Hazard who made his 100 cap for the Red Devils.

Joachim Low side battled past their Dutch counterpart by 3-2, a feat they last achieved away from home since 1996.

The Germans went up with two goals courtesy of two brilliant strikes from Leroy Sane and Serge Gnarby in the first half in the 15th and 34th minute.

But Ronald Koeman's side rallied back with a dominant second half display as defender Matthijs de Ligt headed home in the 48th minute before Memphis Depay brought the game level in the 63rd minute.

What looked like a draw between the rivals took a twist in the 90th minute as substitute Marco Reus assisted Nico Schulz to scored the winner s the match ended 3-2 in favour of Germany.

Meanwhile, the Group I encounter between Belgium and Cyprus ended by 2-0 as Hazard scored his 30th international goal in his 100th cap for his country.

A blocked shot from Michy Batshuayi fell kindly for the Chelsea star as he slammed home a shot to make it 1-0 in the tenth minute.

Goal scorer turned provider as Hazard laid a pass to Batshuayi who dribbled past the goalkeeper before applying the finish to make it 2-0.

It is now two wins out of two for Roberto Martinez side as they top Group I ahead of Russia, Kazakhstan, Cyprus, Scotland and San Marino.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Euro 2020 qualifiers began across Europe as heavyweights Spain and Italy go off to a winning start in Group F and J respectively.

Spain recorded a hard-earned 2-1 victory over Norway at the home ground of Valencia, Estadio Mestalla.
