Amid tension over the general election held in Taraba, the three-man tribunal committee set up to look into the petitions in the state has relocated itself to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The panel, which was constituted by the president court of appeal Hon. Justice Z A. Bukachuwa, moved itself from the Magistrate Court Mile Six in Jalingo, the state capital following concern over the security of its members and the petitioners.

Speaking on the development, the scribe of the tribunal, Julde Abdulsalam, said the burden on the panel is heavy than the security provision for the members of the panel, adding that it would be disastrous for tribunal to hold sitting in an open space like the venue of the sitting.

Legit.ng gathers that the panel is presently treating petitions on the senatorial cases across the three senatorial districts of the state, while four cases involving House of Representatives election are also filed before it.

Earlier the panel had pasted a notice of its relocation at the office of the chief judge of Taraba state urging members of the public to consult the panel's secretary for inquiry.
