Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has stated that former president Olusegun Obasanjo is a worse dictator than late General Sani Abacha.
Oshiomhole made the comment during an interview session on Channels TV, in response to a recent statement by the former president, accusing President Muhammadu Buhari of returning Nigeria to an era of impunity.

Legit.ng notes that Obasanjo, in his statement, had accused President Buhari of taking Nigeria back to the era in which perceived enemies of the government were fought with state institutions.
According to Obasanjo, Buhari was putting the lessons he allegedly learned from the late former head of state into practice.
He said: “Today, another Abacha era is here. The security institutions are being misused to fight all critics and opponents of Buhari and to derail our fledgling democracy.”
In response, however, Oshiomhole disagreed that the country is drifting into a dictatorial state.
He said: “Obasanjo can’t look me in the eyes and say those things. He is a worse dictator, he was worse than Abacha.”
The APC national chairman also spoke on the general state of the nation. He said people “are saying Buhari should fix Nigeria in three and half years” when Obasanjo ruled for eight years and could not fix the country.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Adams Oshiomhole accused former president Olusegun Obasanjo of plotting to rule Nigeria by proxy.
Oshiomhole, who made the statement while reacting to Obasanjo's claim that the PDP will defeat APC in 2019, urged Nigerians not to hand the nation to opportunists during the forthcoming elections.
