Emerging reports have claimed that security agencies disclosed alleged plans by People Democratic Party to discredit the outcome of the just concluded 2019 presidential election that made President Buhari secure his second term bid in office.
The Nation learnt that the PDP and some some opposition leaders conspired to mobilise international and local groups to reject the results. The Newspaper's sources claimed that the plot was hatched at a meeting on Tuesday night, February 26, in Abuja.
A top security source, who spoke in confidence, said: “Some opposition leaders met in Abuja on Tuesday night till the early hours of Wednesday on how to disorganise the country.

''The meeting followed their failed bid to stop the collation of results by the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu.
“We have intelligence clues on their plans. The first peg of the plot by the opposition is to discredit the outcome of the presidential poll at all cost.
''They have decided to engage international and local media and support groups in this regard. The second part borders on civil disobedience and protest marches nationwide by commissioned ethnic groups and some civil society organisations.

“And a principal officer in the National Assembly has been mandated to obtain relevant documents and other logistics details which can be used at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal and for media propaganda.”
It was learnt that the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) on Wednesday, February 27, announced that it will start a protest against the release of the results.
The CUPP 1st national spokesperson, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, said the mass action was informed by the fact that President Buhari is a “carrier of stolen mandate.”
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the candidate of the PDP in the election, Atiku Abubakar, was reportedly confident that he would be victorious when he formally institutes an election petition case against President Buhari and the APC.
It was learnt that one of the major reasons for Atiku’s confidence was the wide-ranging availability of video evidence to back up his claims of non-voting, voter intimidation, ballot box snatching and destruction, illegal vote cancellation and deliberate voter disenfranchisement.
Atiku had rejected the declaration by the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mahmood Yakubu, that Buhari was the winner of the election.
