The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has denied the allegations that some politicians, especially in Kogi Central senatorial district, were caught with ballot papers ahead of February 23 elections.
The commission said the allegations were untrue and insisted that all sensitive materials are in the commission's custody or in the Central Bank's vaults.
In a series of thread on its official Twitter handle, the commission said only duly stamped and dated ballot papers with the endorsement of the INEC presiding officer's signature are valid and will be counted for election.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Nigeria's aviation minister, Captain Hadi Sirika dismissed claims made by the INEC chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, saying bad weather prevented movement of election materials on the eve of the postponed elections.

Professor Yakubu had while addressing stakeholders on Saturday, February 16 in Abuja, stated that some election materials could not be transported by air due to bad weather.
