President Muhammadu Buhari has been urged by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to spare a thought for the five million votes promised him by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state.
The opposition party made the comment in response to the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s presidential rally which took place in Kano on Thursday, January 31, Vanguard reports.

Legit.ng gathers that in a statement released by the PDP’s spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, on Thursday night, the opposition party pointed out that the total number of voters registered in Kano is not more than 5.5 million.
The party stated that President Buhari ought to have cautioned Ganduje to stop making such vain promises, considering the total number of registered voters in the state, if he (Buhari) is truly committed to free and fair elections.
The PDP said: “This promise is being made even in the scenario where President Buhari has since lost the support of the people of Kano state, following his failure to fulfill even the littlest of the litany of promises he made to them during the 2015 campaigns.”

Recall that Legit.ng previously reported that the Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, restated his commitment to deliver five million votes to President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 elections.
Ganduje promised this in Kano at a grand rally to formally welcome a former governor of the state, Ibrahim Shekarau and other PDP defectors into the APC.
He said that the party's concern in the state was to win the forthcoming governorship, presidential, national and state assembly elections.
