Elections 2019: You'll never regret voting for PDP - Wife of governorship candidate tells electorate

- The wife of the PDP governorship candidate in Gombe, Maryam Bayero Nafada, says the party would protect the interests of the electorate if given their mandate

- Mrs Nafada urged PDP supporters to remain calm, following the postponement of elections and stated that they'll never regret voting for the party

- The candidate's wife further asserted that postponing elections was just like extending the inevitable and imminent defeat of the APC because people are determined to vote for the PDP

Maryam Bayero Nafada, wife of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s gubernatorial candidate in Gombe state, has assured the electorate that if given the mandate, the party would protect their interests and facilitate social and infrastructural development.

She made the comment while addressing newsmen in the state on Sunday, February 17, Tribune reports.

Legit.ng gathers that while reacting to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)'s impromptu postponement of the February 16 presidential and National Assembly elections, she urged the PDP supporters in the state to remain calm, resolute and wait till the rescheduled February 23 to vote for the candidates of the party at all levels, assuring them that they’ll never regret voting for the party.

She further expressed disappointment at the postponement of the elections; stating that it was very sad and unfortunate that a commission like INEC, which is headed by a professor, could announce a postponement few hours to voting on grounds of logistical problems, after having sufficient funding and time.

She said: "It’s really sad and disappointing for INEC to postpone elections few hours to the commencement of voting while the same people have at several times told Nigerians that they’re fully prepared for the polls. This is ridiculous.

"Postponing election by INEC and the APC government is just like extending the inevitable and imminent defeat because people are determined to vote for PDP, whichever date elections hold and they’ll never regret doing that."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the PDP alleged that two top officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, one of them, Amina Zakari, played major roles in sabotaging the presidential election scheduled for February 16.

The PDP, in a statement released by its spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan, on Sunday, February 17, said it was alerting Nigerians that contrary to what the presidency and the national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, wanted them to know, it could confirm that some people within the federal government also played roles.
