Former workers of Nigeria Airways Limited on Tuesday, February 5, promised to stage a mega rally in Lagos state to declare their support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s candidacy in the forthcoming presidential election.
Daily Trust reports the pensioners and ex-workers of the defunct national carrier made the announcement in a statement signed on their behalf by Lookman Animashaun and Sam Nzene in the state saying a similar rally will be held in Kano.
They explained that President Buhari had wiped away their tears after 14 years of neglect, humiliation and frustration by previous administrations, which led to the death of over 800 of their members.

They also blasted past administrations which they said only made promises that were never kept, describing Buhari as a man of his words.
They expressed confidence that the Buhari’s administration would soon ipay the balance of their entitlements.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the presidential ambition of Buhari received a boost with a reported endorsement by retired military officers in the Nigerian Army, the Navy and Air Force.
Those who endorsed Buhari for a second term include 13 Major Generals, eight Air Vice Marshal (AVM), two Rear Admirals (RA), 12 Brigadier Generals, nine Air commodores, eight Commodores and 17 former military administrators.

It was learnt that the retired officers were led by retired Brigadier General Buba Marwa, a former military administrator of Lagos state, who also heads the presidential advisory committee for the elimination of drug abuse in the country.
