What I may do to corrupt persons if elected as president - Atiku

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, on Wednesday, January 30, said he would consider granting amnesty to corrupt persons willing to surrender their loot.

Atiku said this while fielding questions alongside his running mate, Peter Obi, on a live programme hosted by journalist, Kadaria Ahmed.

The PDP presidential candidate said he would consider drawing a line during which corrupt former public officials would be allowed to return their loot without prosecution after which strong policies would be put in place to prevent and fight corruption.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Atiku called on the federal government to study and adopt the empowerment module of the Delta state governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.

The presidential candidate of the PDP made the call on Thursday, January 24 in Asaba at the second job creation exhibition for beneficiaries of Skill Training and Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP), Youth Agricultural Entrepreneurship (YAGRP) and Graduates Employment Enhancement Programme (GEEP) skill acquisition and entrepreneurial programmes of Governor Okowa's administration.

According to Atiku who was represented at the event by his running mate, Peter Obi, “these wealth creation programmes are practical and realistic and the Federal Government should visit Delta state to understudy the schemes and implement them for the benefits of Nigerians and the speedy industrial revolution of the country.”

The PDP presidential flag bearer commended Governor Okowa's administration for the initiative, assuring that his administration would explore sustainable means to create wealth for Nigerians.
