Oladipo Olamide Emmanuel popularly known as Chinko Ekun has stated that there is no love in the music industry and that every man has to stand up for himself. He revealed this in a recent interview where he talked about his journey so far in the realm of stardom.
Recall that the 25-year-old artiste found his way to fame after an impressive freestyle performance at Olamide Live in Concert in 2018. Since then, the young singer has made sure to reign in the spotlight.
Recently, he released a hit song titled Able God and has amassed over 500,000 followers on Instagram. There is no arguing that Chinko Ekun has marked his terrain in the entertainment industry but like most achievers, he had to work hard to get where he is.
For one who is a fast-rising star, he has learnt that there is minimal love in the industry and to achieve one's goals, one must remain resilient and never give up regardless of obstacles that might come their way.
"Sadly, I have learnt that there is no love in this industry. When you are an artiste who is struggling to make a name, people act like you don’t exist; and it’s awful because it is people you don’t expect such from that are guilty of that act." revealed Chinko.
He also stated: "When you succeed and your name is everywhere, everybody suddenly recognizes your existence. That is not love. But on a brighter note, the greatest lesson I have learnt is that you must never give up, no matter how hard it seems. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel. What you need to do is push until you make it and succeed. One day, you’ll make it, regardless of the struggles and challenges."
It is a good thing that he is now reaping the fruits of his labour. Interestingly, the young singer recently completed his NYSC. He once shared photos of himself wearing his uniform and marking the end of the mandatory youth service program.
Well, he has sure come a long way.
Meanwhile, former YBNL rapper Xino has accused Olamide of not promoting him while he was with the label. He said Olamide abandoned him on the street with no support. Despite all this, Xino still refers to Olamide as his mentor.
