Chelsea on Wednesday night, January 2, failed to close the gap on Manchester City on the Premier League standings after playing a goalless draw at home against Southampton.
The Blues' fans were frustrated in the second half of the game as their players were unable to break the defense of Southampton at Stamford Bridge.
Defender Marcos Alonso had the first chance for Chelsea in the third minutes when he fired a shot, but his effort was denied by Angus Gunn who parried the ball away.

Brazilian star Willian also had a chance to score for the Blues before the end of the first half, but his shot was blocked by Yann Valery.
Chelsea tried all they could to find the back of the net in the second half, but they were unable to score as the match ended 0-0 at Stamford Bridge.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Premier League giants Chelsea completed the signing of 20-year-old American football star Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund for £58 million.
But the winger who had been linked to Liverpool will be loaned back to the Bundesliga side until the end of the ongoing League season in Europe.
Chelsea have beaten a number of Premier League clubs to the signing and the winger will join Maurizio Sarri's men in the summer.
