Sarri angrily responds to reporter who asked him about Chelsea star's future

- Chelsea were 2-0 victorious over Newcastle in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge

- Willian scored the winning goal to keep the Blues in contention for the league title

- However, Sarri has revealed has has no idea of the club extending Willian's contract

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri refused to discuss Willian's future at Stamford amid reports linking him with Barcelona.

The Brazilian international was a summer target for the Spanish champions but the Blues rejected three bids for the winger.

And according to recent reports, the 30-year-old has caught the eye of the Catalan giants once again in the January window.

Willian scored the winning goal in Chelsea's Premier League 2-1 victory over Newcastle in the Premier League.

When asked if Willian's contract which is set to expire in 2020 will extended by a year, Sarri cut him short.

"Stop, stop, stop. I don't know anything about the Willian contract, but I don't know what to answer," Sarri said during his post-game news conference.

"Maybe he has 12 years of contract, I don't know. I don't know the detail. You are trying to let me speak about something I don't know."

Sarri added: "You know very well that Willian is a very important player for us, as I said yesterday in the news conference.

"In my opinion Willian has to stay with us. A very important player, like Pedro. [Callum] Hudson-Odoi is becoming for us a really important player.

"With Eden [Hazard] as a striker, we need wingers. So we need Pedro. We need Hudson-Odoi. We need Willian of course. For us he's fundamental."

However, Willian spoke of the ongoing speculation over his future, telling BT Sport: "My future is Chelsea, I don't know what you're talking about," while fellow goalscorer Pedro added: "Your future is here."

Chelsea will be taking a trip to the Emirates in the next Premier League fixture as they look to extend the gap between themselves and the Gunner who are in fifth.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Spanish champions Barcelona have been linked with a move for Chelsea winger Willian in the currently January window.

The Brazilian international has come under fire from a number of Blues fans who have become tired of his poor showing this season.
