Presidential candidate vows to defeat Buhari, Atiku in February election

- The presidential candidate of the PPC, Victor Okhai, says his party has what it takes to win the presidential and state governorship elections in many states of the federation

- Okhai notes that the APC and the PDP had failed to utilise the resources God deposited in Nigeria for the good and greater advantage of the citizens

- The presidential candidate urges Nigerians to stand for their rights against the APC and the PDP in the coming general elections

Victor Okhai, the presidential candidate of the Providence Peoples Congress (PPC), has vowed to defeat both President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP in the February presidential election.

Speaking to supporters in Ibadan on Saturday, January 12, Okhai who was in the company of the governorship candidates of the party in Lagos, Ogun and Oyo states, said the PPC had to win the presidential and state governorship elections in many states of the federation, going by the quality of candidates it is fielding for elective positions, The Punch reports.

He said the APC and the PDP had failed to utilise the resources God deposited in Nigeria for the good and greater advantage of the citizens, and urged the people to stand for their rights against both parties in the coming election.

In his contribution the party’s governorship candidate in Oyo state, Taiwo Otegbeye, a past commissioner for information during Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s first term in office, said the PPC was a party to beat because it had a workable blueprint to bail the people out of poverty.

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organization (PPCO) has said the defeat of ruling party’s candidate in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)’s presidential election was another pointer to the impending defeat of President Muhammadu Buhari in the February 16 presidential election.

The director, media and publicity of the organisation, Kola Ologbondiyan, made the statement on Thursday, January 10, in a congratulatory message to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) president-elect, Felix Tshiekedi, for his victory at the just concluded election in that country, The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

Ologbondiyan called on all Nigerians to remain resolute in the national resolve to vote in the PDP candidate, Abubakar, as the next president to restore good governance, national cohesion and economic prosperity in the land.
