Pochettino reveals latest Tottenham's January transfer plans ahead of Chelsea showdown

- Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has not ruled out signing players in this January despite injuries to some squad members

- The Argentine insists it would be a difficult task as he does not fancy the option of panic buying

- Tottenham tackle Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semifinal clash on Tuesday

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has not ruled out the possibility of landing new players in the ongoing winter transfer window this January.

According to a UK Metro report, the Argentine tactician, who is unhappy with gaps in his squad admitted it would be a tough task as he does not fancy the option of panic buying.

Currently, Spurs are without the likes of Jan Vertonghen, Eric Dier, Victor Wanyama and Lucas Moura through injuries.

But the highly-rated football manager insists he won’t be heading to the transfer market.

“It does not depend on some players leaving,”’ stressed Pochettino.

“It’s more about finding the right player that fits for us, not only on the football side, but a player that fits in all areas.

“We know very well that summer is always difficult, but winter is worse and I’m sure for us it will be difficult to add players.

“I don’t expect to add players. Of course, if we have the possibility to add the right player, we are going to try.

“We are always open and try to improve the squad, but it’s not about players in if players leave the squad. We do not operate like this,” added Pochettino.

Tottenham will square up against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semifinal clash on Tuesday..

Presently, the north London dwellers are third in the Premier League log, six points adrift of leaders Liverpool.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Chelsea defeated lowly-ranked Nottingham Forest 2-0 in a tough clash FA Cup clash played at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, January 5.

Under-fire Spanish forward Alvaro Morata netted the two goals to gift the Blues the crucial victory. Nottingham came into the match in fine form, having bounced back to winning ways with a 4-2 triumph over Leeds United on New Year's Day.
