Kogi senatorial candidate cries out, accuses APC thugs of allegedly killing supporter

- A female senatorial aspirant has alleged the killing of one of her supporters by suspected All Progressives Congress (APC) thugs

- Natasha Akpoti alleged that Ojo Enesi was killed by thugs hired by the ruling party

- According to Akpoti, some new guns were handed over to the thugs to launch house to house raid on her supporters

A senatorial candidate in the forthcoming general election, Natasha Akpoti has condemned the killing of one of her supporters, Ojo Enesi in Obeiba, Ihima in Okehi local government area of Kogi state.

Akpoti who is contesting for the senatorial seat for Kogi central under the Social Democratic Party (SDP) alleged that Enesi was killed by thugs hired by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

In a statement forwarded to Legit.ng, Akpoti said new guns were handed over to the thugs to launch house to house raid on her supporters.

The senatorial candidate said that after handing over the guns to the thugs, they went on rampage at about 1:00 am on Saturday, January 12, attacking her supporters' houses.

According to her the thugs also destroyed everything they could lay their hands and carted away with money and other valuables from the houses of her supporters.

Akpoti said: "Last night was one of the longest nights of my life. At 11pm, guns and military wears offloaded from a bus into the Obeiba house of Deedat, the Commissioner of Water resources Kogi State. I asked some people to keep vigil."

"At 1 am, APC thugs started moving from house to house searching for my supporters and shooting at them. We called those we knew to run out for their lives.

"From 1 am to 3.30 am, I called every security chief and personnel I knew. Okehi LGA DPO and area commander were not picking calls. It had to take the commission of Police from a south south state to organize a team to address the situation.

"We do not know how many people were killed, but we know that young Ojo Enesi who is an ardent believer in our mission for a better Nigeria was killed by thugs groomed by Deedat and Abdulkareem Ohiare (Sole Administrator Okehi LGA) under the instructions of Governor Yahaya Bello 0906 665 5565 and 0818 967 9462

"The APC thug who pulled the trigger at Enesi is Ojo Inna Sekenchi 08078376061," Akpoti said in the statement.

Eye witnesses said trouble started at about 9 am on Friday, January 11, when thugs allegedly suspected to be attached to the APC attacked street campaign of the SDP senatorial candidate in Ihima, Okehi local government.

The wittiness said the suspects left some of the SDP supporters with various kinds of injuries.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the Lagos state Police Command has arrested two suspects and declared wanted a chieftain of NURTW, Mustapha Adekunle aka Seigo, over the disruption of APC rally in Lagos on Tuesday, January 8.

The Command’s spokesperson, CSP Chike Oti, said in a statement that the two persons arrested in connection with the incident were helping the police in their investigation.

Oti said that Siego and his entourage had gained entrance to the rally ground as supporters before his group suddenly attacked another NURTW chieftain popularly know as MC Oluomo.
