It is a piece of good news for the people of Kwara as the state police command added five additional police divisions and three more area commands with few days to the beckoning hours of the 2019 general elections.
In a report available in Daily Trust, the Kwara state police command laid the foundation on Saturday, January 12, in the presence of eminent personalities in the force including public relations officer, Moshood Jimoh, who described the event as historical.
Legit.ng gathers from Moshood's remark that the additional divisions will improve the security of the state, revealing the locations as Serkin Kaun, Hajj Camp, Oke Fomo/Pakata, Gaa Akanbi, and Jimba Oja.

According to the police PRO, the new commands would be situated at Oja Oba, Surulere and Kulende in the metropolis.
At the event is Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, who was represented by the Balogun Gambari of Ilorin, Alhaji Aliyu Adebayo.
The monarch lauded the project as a pleasant development, and pledged his support for the leadership of the force in the state.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that AIG Frederick Taiwo Lakanu was appointed the force secretary and member of the Nigerian Police Force management team.
The appointment, which took immediate effect, was announced by the inspector-general of police, Ibrahim K. Idris.
Lakanu replaced AIG Abdul Bube, who retired from the force on December, 31, 2018 after thirty-five years of meritorious service.
