He further stated that the initiative is a self-funded project to complement the party`s campaign structure in the region.

The statement revealed that the minister is billed to meet with religious and traditional leaders, professionals in all the major sectors who are key components of the Nigeria economy and registered associations of artisans across the states.

“The aim of the stakeholders meeting is to motivate and persuade them on the need to return Mr. President back to office and all other APC candidates in their respective states so as to complete the restoration agenda which he has kick started in 2015 in all facets of Nigeria including the health sector,” Owoyokun said.

“What we met at the health ministry in November 2015 is appalling and embarrassing, almost all the health indices were in the negative, the statistics and generated data from both non- governmental and international organizations were scary, collapsed medical facilities, but what we have as at the last quarter of 2018 is a new beginning as we have revitalized all the federal teaching hospitals, make it more functional in qualitative healthcare service delivery, equipment and efficient personnel.

“It is noteworthy that no single linear radiotherapy machine for cancer patients was working when the minister resumed office but today the two machines in National hospital and the one in LUTH are up and runiing, UCH and ABUTH are in the process of installing theirs,” Owoyokun added.

“Our bid to ensure Universal Health Coverage (UHC) is gaining momentum as we have revived over 1,000 primary healthcare centres across the country which is a pointer to why our vaccination for children has improved, child and maternal mortality dropped, malaria incidences crashed and rate of the communicable and non-communicable diseases reduced drastically,” he concluded.
