It was gathered that in order to allow the sustenance of peace and avoidance of nepotism and favouritism between the two candidates and the family at large, the Alaafin has maintained neutrality between his two biological sons

The duo want to represent Afijio/Atiba/Oyo east/Oyo west federal constituency at the lower legislative chamber, Abuja.

According to an investigation conducted, it was reliably gathered that Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, who had intention of endorsing Prince Akeem Adeyemi of APC had withdrawn his support so as to avoid nepotism and favouritism between the two leading candidates.

It was also gathered that the King's wives, palace's workers and others in the palace were not identified with any of the two House of Representatives' candidates.

Investigation also revealed that as 2019 general elections are approaching, there was probability that people living and staying in the palace where there is a polling unit might not exercise their franchise on February 16, when presidential and National Assembly elections would be conducted.

It was, however, gathered that Kamil Akinlabi vying for same seat under African Democratic Party (ADP) in the same federal constituency has been making use of Alaafin and others' neutrality to boost his electoral fortunes.
