American R&B legend James Ingram dies of brain cancer at age 66

- Grammy award singer, James Ingram, after a battle with brain cancer at age 66

- The R&B legend was believed to have been battling with the disease for a long period of time

- Many fans of the music star have taken to social media to mourn what is described as a great loss to the music industry

Almost everyone who enjoyed R&B from the 90s was definitely a fan of James Ingram. One of his best hits, Just Once, continues to serenade the hearts of many people. Sadly, this music legend has passed on after suffering from brain cancer.

The 66-year-old Grammy Award winner, was believed to have battled with the illness for a long period of time before eventually giving up the fight. Ingram, up until his death was considered one of the most talented soul music legends to ever come out of America.

He recorded several chart-toppers in the 80s, including his number one duet with singer Patti Austin, 'Baby Come to Me' as well as 'Somewhere Out There' with Linda Ronstadt, '100 Ways' and the Grammy Award winning song, ‘Yah Mo B There’. He alongside, Quincy Jones co-wrote Michael Jackson's smash hit, 'P.Y.T.' from the Thriller album.

He started his professional singing career in the 70s when he joined the group, Revelation Funk, and even played for famous visually impaired singer, Ray Charles' band at one point.

Many people including celebrities, have taken to social media to mourn his death, using kind and sweet words to describe him.
