Why President Buhari is unhappy with Obasanjo’s political decision ahead of 2019 - PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that it is glaring that President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) were already pained by Olusegun Obasanjo’s decision to withdraw his support for the current administration.

Uche Secondus, the national chairman of the PDP, told the Punch that the same APC that described Obasanjo as their navigator in the weeks leading up to the 2015 elections is now regretting that it longer has Obasanjo's support.

"This is what we have been saying. This is a government of use and dump. They have no memories. When they put on their uniforms and went to beg Baba at Abeokuta shortly before the last election, they were happy to have his support," Secondus said.

“Now that they have disappointed the former President and the majority of Nigerians, they don’t care about his support anymore."

Meanwhile, the federal government has said that former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, has the right to support his preferred presidential candidate ahead of the 2019 elections.

The Punch reports that the minister of information, Lai Mohammed, said this on Monday, December 10.

The minister, however, expressed optimism that President Muhammadu Buhari will defeat Atiku Abubakar saying Obasanjo’s candidate will be “roundly and comprehensively ” defeated.
