Belgium international Kevin De Bruyne could sit out of Man City’s clash against league leaders Liverpool on Thursday, January 3, 2019.
This follows report on Mirror football that the 27-year-old has picked up a slight knock in training and will miss out in Man City’s clash against Southampton this weekend.
De Bruyne could further miss his team’s title show down against Liverpool three days later.
The midfielder has been struggling with fitness this season as he suffered a ligament damage in training back in August which ruled him out of action for two months.

His first start on his return ended with him injuring his other knee in a Carabao Cup tie against Fulham.
Now, Man City are being careful with his return to fitness after two long injury lay-offs with knee injuries already this season.
De Bruyne has featured in Man City's last four games, two as a substitute, but lasted just 70 minutes as Pep Guardiola's men were beaten 2-1 at Leicester on Boxing Day.

He has made just nine appearances this season and has found the back of the net twice.
