Following the death of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Samuel Makene, who died as a result of injury sustained from stabbing in Nasarawa, the state police command said it has arrested 8 suspects in connection to the case.
Daily Trust reports that state police public relations officer, ASP Samaila Usman, said the arrested suspects were being interrogated at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).
Usman also gave the assurance that the suspected culprits will be charged to court for legal prosecution.

Legit.ng gathers that Samuel Makene, a 2018 Batch A corps member, was reported to have been stabbed to death on December 20 by some youth at the Akwanga residence of David Ombugadu, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
The late Makene's place of primary assignment was said to be Government Secondary School Ubbe in Akun Development Area before his death.
Expressing sadness over the death of the serving corps member, the NYSC coordinator in Nasarawa state, Hajiya Zainab Isa, described the incident as unfortunate, adding that about 50 corp members attended the deceased's funeral.
She said: “The DG and entire management of NYSC were disturbed with the sad death of the youth, as about fifty corps members attended his burial to pay their last respect and I call on the public to always abide by the law.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that the police command in Nasarawa state said it had commenced investigation into the killing of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member by some youths in Akwanga local government area of the state.
ASP Samaila Usman, the state police public relations officer, gave the indication in an interview in Lafia on Monday, December 24.
