It is a known fact that street urchins dominate the Yaba area of Lagos and are known for harassing women who have come to the area to buy things.
In the light of this, a group of women staged a peaceful protest, demanding that the street urchins which are mostly men stop the habit of touching females or harassing a female customer in a suggestive way.
The protesters were campaigning against, harassment, objectification, groping, catcalling of women and girls in Nigerian markets.

In response to this, the men took to the streets to blast the women for saying no to harassment. They took to calling the women names like 'ásewo'.
As shared by Twitter user, Amaka_sandra1, just because women said "stop touching us", they were booed by men who called them prostitutes, lesbians and jobless people. According to her, they also threw pure water at them.

Another user Tobi Afolabi wrote, "It’s quite horrifying how many of those Yaba boys today tried to justify the touching women by making it about their dressing.
And this is your average misogynistic man: he refuses to take responsibility and puts all the blame on you."
