Real Madrid boss Solari responds to Ronaldo after he claimed Juventus is his family

- Solari claims Real Madrid are still functioning as a team despite Ronaldo's departure

- The Argentine coach says the Juventus forward is now in the past as they face new challenges

- Los Blancos have bounced into the race for La Liga and have also qualified for UCL last 16

Real Madrid manager Santiago Solari has said that the squad remain humble despite winning three successive Champions League title on the bounce.

And Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed he prefers the team spirit in is new side, Juventus claiming the club felt like "more of a family".

The Portuguese talisman ended a record-breaking spell at the Bernabeu after helping Los Blancos win an unprecedented Champions League title against Liverpool in Kiev.

Solari has been given the mantle to replicate Zinedine Zidane's impressive run rafter replacing Julen Lopetegui on a permanent basis

Real are already through to the knockout phase of the Champions League with a game to spear against CSKA Moscow on Wednesday, December 13.

"Humility is a great virtue and the Real Madrid squad is great and humble," Solari told his pre-match news conference.

"Cristiano is living history of Real Madrid and his feelings are his own.

"Madrid is great in all the values of the sport.

"We work very hard – the technical staff, the physios and the players. All of us."

Speaking alongside his boss, Madrid defender Alvaro Odriozola added: "I have respect for Cristiano who is a legend here in Madrid, but it is already a past.

"This is a family and I was surprised by the humility of these players [after joining from Real Sociedad earlier this year] and the appetite they have."

Madrid have moved within five points of La Liga leaders Barcelona as they head to Abu Dhabi to defend their World Club Cup title next weekend.

When asked about whether he would prioritize the Champions League over La Liga, Solari insisted his team will look to fight on all fronts.

"Those two and also the Copa del Rey and the Club World Cup," he replied.

"We have to be alive in all of the competitions. I like them all and that's what we should aspire to."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that Juventus is the best team he has ever played for in his career.

The Portugal international has scored a remarkable ten goals in the opening 15 Serie A matches this season and have provided five assists.
