Premier League star to get prestigious award after exploits at the FIFA World Cup in Russia

- Harry Kane will be honoured for his services to sport by the Queen on New Year' s day

- Kane emerged the top-scorer at the summer World Cup and in the Premier League back-to-back in 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons

The England star is also planning his wedding with his childhood sweetheart Katie Goodland

England captain and Tottentam star Harry Kane will honoured with the prestigious OBE award by the Queen after excelling with the Three Lions at last summer World Cup in Russia.

According to a UK Sun report, Kane has been informed that the OBE medal was in recognition for his services to sport, which will see him unveiled alongside others in the New Year’s Honours list.

The 25-year-old Kane, who emerged the top scorer at the Mundial, has been urged to play down on the forthcoming ceremony until it is revealed officially next weekend.

Harry is overwhelmed and excited about the idea of going to Buckingham Palace.

“Playing for England was one of the proudest moments of his life but to be honoured by the Queen for his achievement will top the lot.

“The last six months have been a complete whirlwind for him, and getting the OBE will put the finishing touch to an incredible year,” revealed a close friend of Kane.

Kane will not be in hurry to forget about 2018 after ensuring England had their best Mundial in 30 years with an excellent show in Russia.

Aside from being top scorer at Russia with six strikes, Kane was present for the arrival of his second child, Vivienne Jane on August with a year and seven months separating her from big sister Ivy Jane.

Interestingly, Kane, who also claimed the Premier League top scorer award back to back in 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons with Tottenham, is now getting set to tie the knot childhood lover Katie Goodland.

“He is a model professional and a role model for youngsters wanting to enter the game.

"He deserves this recognition,” Kane’s close pal submitted.
