The PDP gubernatorial candidate for Oyo 2019 general elections, Seyi Makinde, has described the current administration led by Senator Abiola Ajimobi as nothing but total failure in education sector.

Legit.ng regional reporter in Oyo, Imran Khalid, reports that while featuring on Lagelu FM, 96.7, on Saturday, December 22, Makinde said that Ajimobi has set a bad precedence in the education sector in the sate since he assumed office in 2011.

He lamented that state took 26th position in the latest result of May/June, 2018 released by West African Examination Council (WAEC).

The governorship hopeful reiterated that since Abiola Ajimobi came on board in 2011, the state has never got 1st-5th position in the annual WAEC's result despite the huge amount he spent on education every year.

He added that Ajimobi was a complete failure in education and he scored him 39 per cent, following his inability to do the needful in order to compete effectively with the neighbouring- leading states.

Makinde lamented that many factors were responsible for Ajimobi's failure in education, adding that an obvious one was his refusal and reluctance to pay the teachers promptly despite the tranches of bail-out fund collected to settle all outstanding salaries.

The PDP gubernatorial candidate also said Ajimibi was a failure on sports and economic management.

He said that it was heart disturbing and painful that the only football club -'Shooting Stars' that the state was proud of has not been doing meritoriously well among its counterparts in Nigeria's local league.

Makinde, however, buttressed that Ajimobi was good at beautifying the environment at the expense of the masses' standard of living.

He said the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adebayo Adelabu, was never a threat to him as he was just a new comer in politics who had no political antecedent that could facilitate his victory.

He pledged that things would be done differently if he wins at the governorship and state House of assembly elections holding on March 2, 2019.
