The national president of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Chinedu Okoronkwo, has condoled with the family the former executive president of Nigeria, Shehu Shagari.
Okoronkwo commiserating with the Shagari family, Nigerians and the people of Sokoto state said the Shagari lived a life worthy of emulation.
Speaking with Legit.ng Okoronkwo noted that Shagari is a leader who was totally selfless in his service to Nigeria during his time as president and after.

According to Okoronkwo, Nigerian leaders, politicians and public office holders should be encouraged to study the life of the late former president and emulate his good morals.
He said: "I received with shock the death of Alhaji Shehu Shagari who died in National Hospital Abuja on Friday, December 28."
Alhaji Shehu Shagari as the first Nigerian's president had Nigeria's development in mind. He believed in Nigeria as an indivisible country and showed it in all his patriotic effort to make Nigeria function as a great nation.
We will all miss him dearly especially his humble way of living irrespective of his position, we will also miss his words of wisdom.

On behalf of IPMAN national working committee I par for God to grant his soul eternal rest and give his family the fortitude to bear this huge loss," Okoronkwo said.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the remains of former President Shagari on Saturday, December 29, arrived Sa’ad Abubakar 111 international Airport Sokoto in a Federal Government aircraft with registration number 5N_FGZ at 12.55pm.

Shagari's body was received by the Governor of Sokoto state, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, former Governor Attahiru Bafarawa , Sokoto State Executive Council members and the family members of the late former president.
He was interred at exactly 3.30 pm after the funeral prayers led by Professor Shehu Galadanchi, former Vice Chancellor, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto.
Legit.ng gathered that the burial was followed by a military parade by members of Nigeria Armed Forces.
