- Argentine football star Lionel Messi wants Ousmane Dembele to stay at Barcelona
- The 2018 World Cup winner has been linked with a move to the Premier League
- Liverpool and Arsenal are the two English clubs who are interested in Dembele
Barcelona star Lionel Messi has made it clear that Frenchman Ousmane Dembele is needed at the club next year and should stay with the reigning Spanish champions.
The 2018 World Cup winner has been linked with a move to the Premier League with Arsenal and Liverpool said to be the two teams interested in his services.
Catalan giants paid £135.5m for the signing of the France international, but after struggling with injuries and failing to nail down a regular spot in the team, he’s been linked with a move away.
Dembele was bought by Barcelona chiefs as replacement for Brazilian star Neymar who left the club for a move to Paris-Saint-Germain.
According to the report by Daily Star UK, Lionel Messi wants Barcelona to block Ousmane Dembele from leaving the club.
“We are happy for Dembele.
“Today he has scored again and is animated and will do very well.
“We need Dembele,'' Lionel Messi explained according to the report by UK Daily Star.
This season, Ousmane Dembele has scored eight goals for Barcelona as the Nou Camp club sit at the top of the Spanish La Liga standings with 31 points after 15 games.
