Chelsea's chances of landing Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic has increased following the withdrawal of Bayern Munich from signing the player.
The 20-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge after the arrival of Maurizio Sarri this summer.
But the Bavarians' interest in the same player posed a threat for the Blues who are looking to bolster their squad.

The Bundesliga giants alongside Liverpool are said to have been on the trail of the American star for the past one and a half year.
SunSport however reports that the Allianz Arena outfit have now moved their attentions from the 20-year-old to Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Kai Havertz.
The 19-year-old, who has to Germany caps, already has nine goals in 23 games for his club this campaign.
According to the Sun quoting the Mirror, Bayern are planning a massive clear out of old players at the end of this season after a disappointing league campaign.

They could move for him in January, but will more than likely wait until Arjen Robben leaves when his deal runs out next July.
Chelsea have been looking at landing Pulisic after sending scouts to watch him on a number of occasions over the last few years.

He only has 18-months left on his contract at Dortmund, who could look at cashing in on one of their prize assets.
Pulisic has struggled to get in their starting XI this season after the emergence of England sensation Jadon Sancho.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Christian Pulisic handed a transfer request notice to his German League side Borussia Dortmund.
The 20-year-old American broke into Dortmund's senior team in January 2016 after just one season with the club's reserved squad.
He has scored three goals and one assist in 17 appearances in all competitions and will definitely improve the Blues midfield when he joins them.
