Legit.ng gathers that the association, in a statement signed by its state shairman, Alhaji Issa Adamu, assured that all necessary logistic measures had already been taken to make sure there was peace between Ekiti famers and herdsmen.

The Fulani association said it believed in the safety of Ekiti state and Nigeria at large.

Adamu said his members had resolved to maintain peaceful co-existence and overall socio-economic development of the state and Nigeria, in honour of Governor Kayode Fayemi.

He explained that the Fulani in Ekiti state would be peaceful and go about their businesses without any form of hindrance to their hosts and the environment.

He expressed the belief in the administration of Governor Fayemi, pledging their support for the administration.

The association congratulated the new governor and his deputy, Chief Bisi Egbeyemi, saying “we surely believe that the new government will better the lives of Ekiti people.

“The yearnings and aspirations of Ekitis will come true under the leadership of Dr Fayemi as his wealth of education and experience will make him perform credibly well.

"We thank Ekiti sons and daughters for bringing Dr Kayode Fayemi back as the governor. His return is for betterment of Ekiti people and the workers in the state. We are persuaded that he has what it takes to make Ekiti truly developed and transformed.”

In the statement, GAFDAN also passed a vote of confidence on President Muhammadu Buhari, saying his administration had performed well.

The group called on Nigerians to vote for continuity of the achievements by the Buhari administration between 2015 and 2018.

Adamu said: “Buhari is an experienced politician and retired general that understands the aspiration of the average Nigerian.”

The group also contended that the president had given corruption a good fight in the country, resulting in no more capital flight in the land.

According to them, the country’s resources that some shared in the past have become a thing of history since Buhari became the president, thereby making Nigeria to now have something to show as foreign reserves; unlike what obtained in the past.

The association expressed the belief in President Buhari and Prof Yemi Osinbajo, saying their victory in next year’s election was sure because their achievements would speak for them at the poll.

They said: “Buhari is a tested and trusted Nigerian president that means well for the citizens of this country. He has a good plan for this country.”

Recall that Legit.ng previously reported that Alhaji Ahmad Mahmud, the Serikin Fulani in Ekiti state, said he was ready to support any move to sustain peace in the state and stop herdsmen-farmers crises.

Mahmud also said he was ready to cooperate with traditional rulers to weed out bad eggs among cattle rearers.

The Serkin Fulani also lamented that his members sometimes face similar attack from marauders who steal and kill their cows.
